Diabetes Education

Putnam Hospital Center has planned a special two-session diabetes education program. The program “Journey for Control,” is an interactive approach to diabetes education that helps patients become better self managers. It was created by Healthy Interventions, in collaboration with the American Diabetes Association, and sponsored by Merck & Co. For the two four-hour programs, participants are asked to bring their blood glucose machines, as well as their lunch. Breast Cancer Support Group

Ongoing support group offered once-a-month by Support Connection, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides free support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Facilitated by a trained peer counselor who has experienced breast cancer, the topics pertain to living with breast cancer through all stages of diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment. A Collaborative Mural Project
